Prof. Jose Maria Cui from Eastern Visayas is 820th victim of political killing. Six years of Arroyo's bloody rule must end
As the country today observe the anniversary of People Power 2, workers said that Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's bloody ruling must come to an end. "There is no justice under this administration. We cannot allow the body counts to escalate. Arroyo must be kicked out of Malacanang to stop the spate of politically-motivated murders, political persecution against government critics and abuses against common civilians. In the end, People Power will prevail over Arroyo's arrogant abuse of power."
Yesterday, death squads killed Prof. Jose Maria Cui, the 820th victim of political killing under the Arroyo administration. He was killed in broad daylight in front of his students at the University of Eastern Philippines. He was an officer of Alliance of Concerned Teachers, Karapatan and Bayan Muna in Eastern Visayas.
"We strongly condemn this heinous crime. We only blame Arroyo, the military and her death squads for the killing of Prof. Cui. The timing of the killing comes after Arroyo's declaration that her government will finish off terrorists with a hand of steel. "The military and Arroyo lackeys like Raul Gonzales, Norberto Gonzales label progressive groups and Arroyo critics as 'terrorists'. They must be held accountable and punished for this latest case of political killing," Ustarez concluded.
