Amid protectionism for plunderer Jocjoc Bolante; Progressive lawyer, workers, orgs cracked down, swiftly detained

Kilusang Mayo Uno Chief Legal Counsel Atty. Remigio Saladero Jr. and 72 other leaders of progressive legal organizations in Southern Tagalog were slapped with charges of multiple murder and multiple frustrated murder for supposedly blowing up a Globe Telecom cell site in Puerto Galera, Mindoro.

Saladero and 27 others from Southern Tagalog as well were also charged with arson and inciting to rebellion for accuses of setting another Globe cell site in Lemery, Batangas on explosion.

Kagyat na pagpapalaya sa batikang abogado ng manggagawa at bayan, hiniling

Pag-aresto sa KMU Chief Legal Counsel, kinondena

 

KINONDENA ng militanteng Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) ang gestapo na pag-aresto kay KMU Chief Legal Counsel Remigio Saladero Jr. kahapon  ng mga pulis  at militar sa kanyang bahay sa Antipolo.

 

Ayon kay Elmer ‘Ka Bong’ Labog, tagapangulo ng KMU, matapos na hindi lumusot ang gawa-gawang kasong arson at pagpapasabog sa Globe cellsite sa Batangas noong Agosto 2 na ibinibintang kay Atty. Saladero, kinakasuhan naman siya ngayon ng multiple murder at frustrated murder sa Mindoro.

KMU chief legal counsel’s life under threat by police-military

Labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) strongly condemned the illegal arrest of their Chief Legal Counsel Atty. Remigio Saladero Jr., by the police and military.

 

“PNP Chief Jesus Versoza is accountable for the Gestapo-like arrest of Atty. Saladero. We will hold the PNP, AFP and the Arroyo government liable for any untoward incident that may happen to Atty. Saladero because of his frailty health condition aggravated by his unjust arrest and detention,” said KMU Chairperson Elmer Labog.

The Kilusang Mayo Uno condemns the choice of Dole Food Company as a finalist for the Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) by the office of the US Secretary of State. KMU office almost intruded; Labor center on alert to mounting threats

It was during the twilight dark of October 7, at 3am, when the national office of Kilusang Mayo Uno was almost intruded by a gang of still unidentified men.

A witness saw a pair of slippers at the foot of an electrical post adjacent to the KMU office gate.  read full article »
